YET ANOTHER UPDATE!?

Posted: 9th Aug 2008
By Urbanebula

Hey, all those who still visit!

Please forgive the recent lack of activity on the site and forums. We are still slowly plodding on with OiFH and another new project which is staying under wraps for a while. Also, I am trying to perfect the look of the site. You may have noticed a slight alteration to the layout as well as a general clean up of the team page. This is mostly due to the fact that several team member have not submitted a decent biography for me to put by their name so for now those members are listed at the bottom of the Team Page.

I apologize again for the neglect of this site but with any luck it will have a lot more content soon.

Merry April Fools

I'm sure you have all fallen victim to a load of pranks earlier today but don't worry. This is a prank free zone.

First up I would like to announce that OiFH development is well underway again. Thanks to ZombieLoffe for providing a link to a new set of fantastic textures by Blazeer the maps are getting a makeover. The boring and frankly outdated Half-Life textures, while still in use, are being toned down in place of fresher, more detailed artwork. This combined with some texture work from our own team mambers means that OiFH should certainly be much more interesting to look at as well as play.

Also, Tosse is working on a series of new MP3 files for the games soundtrack. Its full steam ahead. More info and media soon.

For now, just listen to the music and dream.

EXPRESS YOURSELF!

Not much prgress with the mod so far other than a new weapon which we're keeping under wraps.

Our community is still pretty small and although the program is 10 years old I recently discovered MSChat which still has a ton of users and no real Microsoft moderation any more. This means we can advertise. Sort of.

Its a very early version of IRC in a sense but it takes the form of either a chat window (exactly like Mirc or Oirc) or a comic strip which is very entertaining. After choosing a character you can choose expressions while you speak and can direct your speech to certain people in the room. It shouldn't be entertaining but it is. Until we get a proper server up and running it will only be available while I am online but its still good fun.

Anywho, you can download it HERE. Then all you need to do is choose a character in the 'options' window and connect to the DALNet server. (all the others such as the Microsoft servers are down) and join the room #dpgames.co.uk should it be available.

This will be the kind of thing that will be better when we get more members ;)

Right...back to work eh?

SCREENSHOTS AND DOWNLOADS.

I am pleased to announce that this update is a little more inspiring than the previous few. It comes with a new screenshot of OiFH and a new release in the Games section. First off, the screenshot.

Secondly, we have a new map for the Half-Life 1 mod BrainBread. Its is now available to download in the "Games" section. More updates soon.

NEW LOOK. SAME CRAP.

Happy New Year!

I know its late but this is the first update DPGames has had since December. As for my promise, I did say "If all goes well there should be a media update..."

All didn't go well as you may have gathered. However in the next month or 2 I will be working on OIFH as much as possible. The Dev team has also discovered a love for the Multiplayer Mod "Brainbread." Not only can you find screenshots and a video in the forum but we are also working on exclusive DPGames maps and models which should be ready to download at some point in the near future. As usual I cannot give you any specific dates.

I've been working on the new look for about 3 hours and now its up and ready to roll. Enjoy and don't forget the forum. :)

NOT DEAD. JUST SLEEPING

I know there hasn't been a lot of activity around the site and forums lately. This is mostly due to the lack of free time I have at the moment. However, please don't lose faith. If all goes well there should be a media update around christmas. Promise. :)

BRB, GOIN TO ABERYSTWYTH.

I'm out on the road for the next 3 days. I say out on the road, whereas I am actually going to be "on the road" for a total of 5 hours in the next three days but the basic idea is that I am not here. I have added one of my old models to the Games page to keep you going. Check it out and don't forget the forum :)

See you all when I come back, hopefully with my first installment of "Coffee After Midnight." Tata.

REVIEWS AND RELEASES

Posted: 27th Oct 2007

Yahtzee's Zero-Punctuation reviews are probably a well know thing by now but I decided to give last weeks "Orange Box" review a special mention on the site because its is undoubtedly his funniest to date.

As for DPGames, we now have "The First Custom Portal Chamber Ever!" in our 'Games' section, created by Espen180. We also have a review section up and running in the forum so join up and post some of your ramblings.

BACK AGAIN

Posted: 23rd Oct 2007

Well its been 2 months since this site last got an update so it is certainly due one. Shortly after making the August 7th post (and an update to my homepage on the 8th) my computer finally gave up its fight against some unknown force which seems to hate me. However, with the help of MNuTz and the rest of the teams support things are still moving forward. The team now has a forum dedicated to the projects we are working on and we are hoping to release a lot more media in the coming weeks.

Another slight hitch is the recent release of the much anticipated Orange Box from valve. Due to its sucess in winning over the hearts of each team member with at least 1 of its 3 included titles, the team is now also running a Steam Community open to Developers and whoever else we see fit.

With regards to DPGames' current projects, work will now continue on HL:OIFH and OIFH: Source can move into its planning phase. Also The_Hunter has started work on a new source powered episode of "5 Ways to Die" which, even to his own astonishment, was a highly successful set of maps for the Goldsource engine.

I've got some business to attend to in the White Forrest Mines right now but be sure to check for updates soon.

So here it is. The new official homepage of Demonic Puppy Games. It should be fully operational with all of todays common browsers. If not, drop a note by to the email address when I set one up.

As of now, any developments regarding Demonic Puppy Games and it's projects will be found here and www.urbanebula.co.uk will become my own personnal Homepage/Portfolio.
